Training is an important and necessary part of the work we do to ensure all the staff here at Blyth’s Meadow Surgery are able to perform to their best, and make sure your experience of our service is how we feel it should be. 

The practice has been scheduled for 2025 staff training afternoons:

– 18th September 2025
– 16th October 2025
– 20th November 2025
– 11th December 2025

We will be closed from noon and re-open on the relevant next day.

We try to to limit the impact training has on you our patients. There are occasions however when we do have to close for a whole afternoon and we can only apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.  Medical Advice can be obtained during these times from NHS111 or if a severe medical emergency then contact 999.

Normally the Surgery will be closed from 6.30pm on the Friday before a bank holiday until the Tuesday after with the exception of Good Friday, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
 
If you are in need of urgent medical advice during these times and feel you cannot wait until the surgery re-opens please contact NHS 111 by dialing 111 from your telephone.

If you feel you have a life threatening emergency please dial 999.
We have 2 car parking spaces close to the surgery entrance door reserved for disabled visitors.

There is a ramp to the door for wheelchair access and disabled toilet facilities are available on the 1st and ground floors. 

There are 3 doctor consulting rooms and 2 treatment rooms situated on the ground floor, with further consulting rooms on the 1st floor, accessible by a lift.
111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.
We are now offering Extended Hours telephone triage for Doctors and appointments with our Nurses / Health Care Assistant on Monday evenings between 6.30pm to 7.30pm, please call reception for availability.

PCN Extended Access
We are pleased to announce that the Primary Care Network has made arrangements for GPs, Nurses, Pharmacists and others to be available to host appointments for practice patients from all the 5 surgeries on Saturday’s from 9 – 5pm.

All the clinical staff are members of the 5 practices and they will have full access to your medical record, have the ability to make any necessary referrals, order blood tests etc, this information will then be available within your own medical record back at your usual practice, should you need any follow-up.

The service is being run at The Live Well Hub in Manor Street Braintree.

Please note: this not an emergency service or a walk-in service all appointments are to be made through you usual surgery Monday to Friday and the appropriate information will be provided to you by the reception staff.
