BRAINTREE PCN SURVEY ENHANCED ACCESS IN GENERAL PRACTICE
Braintree Primary Care Network is a group of GP practices working together to deliver services and population health management at scale in line with the NHS GP contract. The PCN has been set many objectives, one of which (commencing October 2022) is to deliver Primary Care services over and above core opening hours, namely 6.30pm-8.00pm weekdays and 9.00am-5.00pm on Saturdays. There may be local discretion. As a PCN we are expected to offer 60 minutes of clinical time per 1000 registered patients. Braintree PCN has 53,759.31 registered patients.
We have been asked to undertake patient engagement, to ensure enhanced services meet the needs of the local population.

Wearing of Face Masks from 27 January 2022: -
The Government has relaxed the rules on wearing of face masks/shields from the above date, however NHS settings including GP surgeries have been advised that all patients visiting the surgery should wear a face mask or shield. We appreciate some of our patients are exempt, however a face shield will not restrict your breathing and allows for you, for the short while you are in the surgery waiting to be seen provide protection for other services users and our own staff whether clinical or non-clinical.

If you are calling about your referral to hospital to see a consultant, please call the Referral Support Service on Patient line 0300 123 0771 between 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday. This service is unable to to advise if you have been referred for a scan.

Demonstrating your COVID vaccine status: From 17 May 2021, people in England who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine. Vaccine status will be available from:
You will need to register to use the online services, if you have not already. It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified.
If you cannot access the online services, and you have had both doses of the vaccine, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you are due to travel outside the UK in the near future and have had your second dose more than 5 working days ago. It may take up to 7 working days for the letter to arrive.
This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status. Please do not contact the practice about your COVID-19 vaccination status unless you have been advised to by the 119 service.
When you're planning your travel, you should check the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is enough time to get proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status before you are due to travel.
Non Attendance of Appointments
The practice has to deal with missed appointment every week due to patients not giving us notice that they would not be attending. These "did not attends" (DNAs) are a waste of appointments that could be given to other patients.
Due to the increasing pressures faced by the practice this is not something that we can allow to continue. We will be monitoring those patients that do not attend on a regular basis. If you miss 3 appointments in a 12 month period, without a valid reason, you may be removed from the practice list and asked to register elsewhere.
